Sea Ranch Fiber to the Home Network Construction Begins
GigabitNow recently announced its plans to bring gigabit fiber Internet to homes and businesses in The Sea Ranch community along the northern California coast. GigabitNow has announced the selection of Cannon Companies, a recognized leader in the telecommunications construction industry, to complete the outside plant construction.
“We selected Cannon for this project as they have become a reliable partner on our other gigabit fiber networks,” said Dan Sivils, Chief Operating Officer of GigabitNow. “Cannon is a company we can count on for quality in workmanship, commitment and integrity.”
Cannon Companies, based in Milton, Washington will lead the field construction of the gigabit fiber network installation across the distinctive Sonoma County community.
“We’ve been in business for over 30 years as a preferred contractor for government entities and telecommunication providers, looking ahead we see a lot of opportunity in fiber to the Home and municipal fiber networks,” said Mike Cannon, President/CEO of Cannon Companies, Inc. “It’s exciting to be part of fiber projects with GigabitNow and to play such an important role in delivering fiber Internet to communities that need it.”
The Sea Ranch community Internet service, Sea Ranch Connect, will be a state of the art fiber network designed to deliver reliable speeds to every residence in the community. The network is designed as an active ethernet solution with scalability to provide competitive Internet speeds far into the future. Construction efforts on the Sea Ranch community fiber network are underway and are expected to finish in spring of 2017. GigabitNow expects the roll-out of home fiber Internet services to begin in late 2016, adding the northern California community to its family of community fiber connectivity projects across the west coast of the United States.
